Geopact collects the least it can and sells none of it. There is no analytics script on this site, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no third-party font. Everything this site loads, it serves itself.
This website
The pages you are reading are static files. They set no cookies and store nothing in your browser.
The front page asks this server one question, at
/status.json, to find out whether the game server is up and how
many people are on it. That request is answered from memory by a service on
this machine. It records nothing about you.
The store fetches its catalogue from Tebex, so
loading it means your browser talks to headless.tebex.io. When
you buy something you are sent to Tebex's own checkout, and from that point
Tebex's privacy
policy governs what happens to your details. We never receive your card
number.
The map is BlueMap, served from this machine. It does not publish player positions.
Our web server keeps ordinary access logs: IP address, the page requested, the time, the browser's user agent. They exist to find faults and to spot abuse. They are rotated daily and deleted after ten days.
How long we keep things
These are the periods actually in force, not intentions:
- Website access logs — ten days, then deleted.
- Game server logs, which include joins, quits, the IP address used and commands run — thirty days, then deleted.
- Build history — every block placed or broken, with its coordinates and time, kept so that griefing can be undone. There is no automatic deletion today.
- Your account records — permissions, town membership, homes, skills, statistics, inventory and the places you have found — kept for as long as the account exists on the server.
- Moderation records — kept while the ban or mute stands. Deleting them would undo the moderation.
- The chronicle is public and permanent by design, and is limited to notable events. It is not your chat and not your position.
We do not write your chat to disk. If chat is relayed to Discord, Discord keeps it under its own policy.
The game server
Joining Geopact means we necessarily hold:
- Your Minecraft username and account UUID.
- The IP address you connect from.
- What you do in the world: where you build, what you place and break, what you type in chat, and the moderation record if there is one.
- The entries about you in the chronicle, which are public and permanent, and which are limited to notable events: foundings, sieges, first landfalls. Not your chat and not your position.
None of it is sold, rented or handed to anyone for marketing. We disclose it only if the law requires it.
Discord
If you join our Discord, Discord holds your data under its own policy and we can see your Discord username and what you post in our server. The player count line on the front page reads only a number, never a name.
Buying things
Tebex is the merchant of record and the data controller for everything to do with a payment: name, email, billing address, payment details. We receive the Minecraft name a package should be delivered to, and the fact that it was paid for. That is all we get and all we want.
How long we keep it
Chronicle entries are permanent, and that is the point of a chronicle.
Your rights, and how to use them
If you are in the UK or the EU you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Ask on Discord, or write to support@geopact.earth, and we will deal with it.
Two honest limits. First, the chronicle is a public historical record and we will not remove entries from it; if that matters to you, it is worth knowing before you found a town. Second, anything to do with a purchase is Tebex's to answer, not ours, and we are required to pass such requests to Tebex rather than answer them ourselves.
Children
This is not a service aimed at young children. You must be at least 16 to buy anything from the store, which is Tebex's rule. If you are under 18, ask whoever pays the bill first.
